Camp Quality New Jersey,
Week long overnight camping and year-round support programs and events for Kids with Cancer
Camp Quality is about making a difference in a child’s life....
We are a volunteer driven organization providing year round programs for kids with cancer with a focus on improving the quality of life. Our programs are designed to foster the building of new friendships, emotional strength, and life skills in a stress free environment. These programs are offered at no cost to the families of kids with cancer.
With a Dose of Smile Therapy. . .
Camp Quality New Jersery provides a summer camping experience and year-round support program for children with cancer. Many difficult physical and emotional challenges face a child, and his or her family, when battling cancer. At our summer camps we have developed an important type of “therapy” . . . we like to call it Smile Therapy! With a laugh in their hearts and smiles on their faces, Camp Quality Kids find themselves capable of more than they may have dreamed possible.
We Laugh, Love, Lift-up . . .
Camp Quality has built its reputation on personalized care. Every camper is paired with a companion who is dedicated completely to his or her care. Companions are the life-blood of Camp Quality; they are fun to be with, adventuresome, great listeners and are always sharing their love for life.
Unlike other camping programs, each of our fun activities at camp are carefully selected to ensure that the activity builds life skills, encourages group interaction amongst campers and companions, and/or offers a high impact lasting memory. Companions and the Program/Activity Staff at camp work together to encourage children to try new activities and challenges that allow them to leave their “Comfort Zone" in an attempt to build emotional strength and life skills.
As a companion volunteer, Camp Quality New Jersey provided me an opportunity to give back and bring a smile to a child's face. I often refer to Camp Quality as the hidden jewel of New Jersey when it comes to an organization which provides a free and exciting camping experience for children with cancer. Each day spent at camp was truly rewarding and unforgettable.

A Doctor's Perspective...........
It has been a great pleasure for me to serve as the medical director for Camp Quality New Jersey for the past 2 summers. In my year-round work as a pediatric oncologist, I know too well how many things our kids miss out on during the year-things other families take for granted, like school, sports, and hanging out with friends. Treating cancer becomes the focus for the entire family for an extended period of time. The relationships that quickly develop between campers and companions and throughout the camp community provide an outstanding way to build emotional strength for our kids. They leave camp with renewed self-confidence and skills that will help them back home.
